A Plea For Racehorses
Sir,—l was at the races on Thursday and I am thinking our civilisation is last going to the dogs. To see the most noble of God's animals being flayed and belted along through mud and slush and water almost up to their knees, was enough to make any humane animal lover wince with anger and pain. I love to see the horses gallop along but for the love of Mike give the poor dumb brutes a lighting chance.-—Yours, etc. ANIMAL LOVER.
