HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

VISIT FROM AUCKLAND MEN'S TEAM PROSPECTS WAIROA WITHDRAWAL At a meeting of the Poverty Bay ' Hockey Association last night a letter was received from the Auckland Hockey Association stating that it .vas endeavouring to arrange a visit by a men's representative team to Gisborne at the end of the season. The Wairoa sub-association wrote advising that at a meeting held last month it was unanimously decided to apply tor the creation of a separate association lor that district. It was decided to ask the Wairoa sub-associa-tion for all particulars that would be required for the purpose of forwarding a report on the matter to the New Zealand association. Mr. J. Henderson tendered his resignation as a selector tor the men's representative team. At the instance of the chairman, Mr. 11. Leßas, a motion expressing appreciation of Mr. Henderson's services for the association was carried unanimously. A motion of condolence with Mr. V. Steggall in the death of his mother was carried. The Hinenui ladies' club was thanked lor making available a portion of its gear for the Maori-Pakeha match en Thursday. Saturday's Fixtures The draw for next Saturday's club games was as previously made for the postponed games, as follows: Men's Senior A Grade.—Caledonian v. Defence, No. 1 ground, 3.1 f) p.m.; Muriwai v. Y.M.C.A. A, No. 2, 2.15 1).m.; Foresters, a bye. Men's Senior B Grade.—Waituhi v. School, High School ground, 1.30 p.m.; Y.M.C.A. C v. Y.M.C.A. B. High School ground, 2.30 p.m.; Wesleyan, a bye. Women.—Hinenui v. Old Girls, No. 2 ground, 1.15 p.m.; Kia Toa A v. Coronation, No. 1, 2.15 p.m.; Waituhi v. Y.M.P., No. 1, 1.15 p.m.; Kia Toa B v. Awapuni, No. 2, 3.15 p.m. Those present at the meeting were: Mr. H. Leßas, chairman: Mesdames Leßas, W. Watts and G. Nicol. Messrs. R. Lowe, G. Slade, L. Cooper, G. Nicol, A. Wilson, G. Graham, R. J.
