CHINESE AMBASSADOR CHIANG'S SON PROMOTED (Rec. August 1, 11.30 a.m.) BERLIN, July 31. Herl; Hitler has conferred the Grand Cross- of the German Eagle on the Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Cheng Tieni'ong, who is going to China, via England. M. Chiang Wei Go, a son of Marshal Chiang Kai-Shek, was promoted to the rank of .sergeant in the German Alpine regiment to which he is attached in the Tyrol.
