ATTACKS ON RED ENSIGN
SHIPPING TO SPAIN i IN V ESTIMATION PLANS (British Official Wireless.) Reccl. 1 p.m. RUGBY, July 29. The Britis.li Minister in Nationalist Spain returns to Burgos to-morrow with instructions which, it is expected, will enable him to settle with General Franco's administration, the final details of the commission which is to examine the question of the bombing of British ships. Speaking in the House of Commons, the Foreign Under-Secretary, Mr. R. A. Butler, stated that reports suggested that the sinking of the British ship Dcllwyn in Spanish waters had. been deliberate. If this were confirmed the Government would immediately request an investigation. It was stated that a destroyer had watched the sinking of the vessel and had not acted as the instructions were not to protect British shipping in territorial waters.
