COLONEL E. R. SMITH, who entertained officers of the Otago Regiment and members of the Trumpet and Bugle Band after they had paraded and sounded the "Reveille" and general salute in front of his house in Dunedin. He is now 83 years old, and has had 55 years' Volunteer service.
