BISHOP FOUND AT PRAYER
NAZI RAIDERS CHECKED BID TO FIRE PALACE (Reed July 28. 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. The Berlin correspondent of The Times says that 5000 Nazi demonstrators brought to Rottenburg in motor coaches broke down the doors ol' the palace of the Roman Catholic Bishop, who lias been in high disfavour since he explained that lie would not vote for a party sending enemies of the church to the Reichstag. The demonstrators threw documents from the windows and attempted to set fire to the palace. Eventually they entered the chapel, but on finding the bishop on his knees in prayer with the archbishop, they withdrew.
