*>- 30,000 CLUB APPEAL DAIRY CO.’S POSITION An appeal to farmers to support the Waikanae Beach improvement plan was made at the annual meeting of the Kia Ora Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, to-day by Messrs. James Chriso and W. Oakden, representing the Gisborne Thirty-Thousand Club, suggesting that the company should make a donation of £2OO. The chairman, Mr. M. Doyle, explained that the company had taken legal advice on the matter, and lound that it could not make a donation. but if the individual suppliers’ permission were secured small amounts could be deducted, front their cheques. When lie mentioned that £2OO might be given by the company, Mr. Chrisp said that that would mean only 4s or 5s per supplier. Farmers used the beach a great deal It was proposer, eventually to construct a road liom Grey street to the mouth of the W:upaoa River. Mr. D. .T. Gumming said that the project was well worthy of support, and moved that the suppliers shouU. be circularised suggesting that smail donations should be deducted from their cheques. The motion was carried.
