Highways votes for the No. 4 highways district. Gisborne, this year total £200,000, compared with £103,000 last year, an increase of £43,000. The total spent last year was £116,079. Of the total amount available for the district, £85,000 is earmarked for construction, reconstruction and improvement. £95.000 is for maintenance and repairs, and .1:20.000 for renewals.
Votes for the whole of the Dominion show an increase of £872.000, totalling £5.037.200. The total voted last year was £4.105,200, of which £4,031,728 was spent. The gross total available for expenditure in the Dominion is £5.287,200. including £250,000 of credits in hand.
