OVER 45 HOURS IN WATER

VENICE, California, July 20.
Paul Chotteau, the French swimmer, was taken from the water 11 miles from his goal, after his failure to swim 58 miles from Santa Barbara Island to the mainland.
Chotteau, however, established a new long distance record in open water of approximately 53 miles in one day 21 hours 4 minutes.
