PRINCE OF LICHENSTEIN

RENUNCIATION RECALLED

(Reed. July 27, 9 a.m.) LONDON, July 20

The death has occurred of Prince Franz I of Lichenstein, aged 84, who on March 31 last renounced the throne in favour of Prince Francis Josef, aged 31.

At that time the Diet, voicing the fears of the principality as a result of the annexation of Austria by Germany, passed a resolution in favour of independence and fidelity in the reigning house and adherence to treaties.
