Arthur Fagg. playing for Kent against Essex, created a world record by scoring two double centuries. This was the highlight of the county crickei games which concluded to-day. Fagg made scores of 244 and 202 not out. Other century-makers were Whitfield 138 for Surrey; Pearce, 137 not out for Essgx;. Mitchell 133 and Sutcliffe 104 for Yorkshire and Dempster 124 not out for Glamorgan. The matches were interfered with by rain. Details are as follows: Surrey in the first innings made 433 runs (Parker 85, Whitfield 138) Hampshire in the first made 218 and followed on to score 144. Surrey won by an innings and 71 runs Kent in the first innings made 429 runs (Fagg 244 i. and in the second scored 313 for one wicket and declared (Fagg not out 202). Essex in the first innings made 350 runs (Pearce 137 not out. Wright seven for 107) and in the second lost two wickets for eight runs. Kent won on the 1 first innings.' Lancashire in the first innings made 79 runs (Andrews five for 23 and Buse four for 34). Somerset in the first innings made five runs without loss. The match was drawn. Notts in the first innings made 167 runs (Sperry live for 46) and in the second lost four wickets for 167 runs (Gunn 84). Leicester in the first innings made 175. Leicester won on the first innings.
Northants in the first innings made 196 runs and in the second 177 (Robinson four for 29). Yorkshire in the first innings made 435 for five wickets and declared (Sutcliffe 104 and Mitchell 133). Yorkshire won by an innings and 62 runs. Sussex in the first innings made 414 runs for nine wickets arid declared (Stainton 71) and in the second 2! without loss. Gloucester in the first innings made 207 (H. Hammond five for 38) and followed on to make 225 (Barnett 61, Hammond four for 35). Sussex won by 10 wickets.
Worcester in the first innings marie 203 runs (Mitchell five for 75) and in flic second lost one wicket for two runs. Derby in the first innings made 250 (A. Pope 88 not out). Derby won on the first innings. Glamorgan in the first innings made 217 runs and in the second 97 for one wicket. Calm’s eleven in the first made 384 (Dempster 124 not out). The match was drawn. MARGIN OF 133 RUNS WIX roil (lIOXTI.IMIHX (Reed, July 16, 12 noon.) LONDON, July 15. The cricket match, Gentlemen v. Players, was won by the former by a margin of 133 runs. Gentlemen, who made 411 in the first innings, declared with eight ■clown for 172 in the second. Yardlcy made 34. P. Smith took five wickets for 68 runs and Smailles two for 33.
