OFFER MADE TO BRADMAN
STORY OF £2500 POSITION ADVISORY CAPACITY (Reed. June 27, noon) LONDON, June 26. The Daily Mirror says that the Australian cricket captain, D. G. Bradman, is considering an offer of £2500 a year from the Sports Investors Society Limited, London, described as a firm of bookmakers, to whom Bradman pointed out he was bound by a present contract for some time, but the society is prepared to renew the offer on the expiration of the present engagement and * Bradman is said to have promised to consider it. The position is described as the chairmanship- of the advisory committee to the society. Bradman, when interviewed by the Australian Press Association, confirmed the report that he had received certain correspondence concerning an offer. He regarded the whole affair as confidential and could not state when he would be likely to decide. He was not aware that the position concerned bookmaking.
