BIG SATURDAY CROWDS
SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS CLEARING THE BUILDING The Poverty Bay Winter Show concluded on Saturday night, when there was another large attendance, but the Friday night crowd, a record on<s for a Friday night, remained the largest of the four nights. Large numbers of people also visited the Show on Saturday afternoon.
Special attractions on Saturday night secured the attention of the greater portion of the crowd, the national dancing again proving a big draw, while the finals of the Poverty Bay ping pong championships also drew a large gallery of spectators. Prize-money was paid out at tht Show on Saturday qight, and at the ■losc of the evening many of the displays were dismantled, exhibitors hiking home their goods. The final clearing of the building was accomplished to-day.
It is not possible yet to secure any indication of the financial position following the Show. The last Show held, in 1936, was the first for several years at which a profit was made, and it is hoped that on this occasion, too, it will be possible to show a credit balance when the final figures are available.
