VESSELS DUE AT GISBORNE Wainui, southern ports, June 30. Margaret W., Auckland, June 30, Port Hardy, Auckland, July 18. COASTAL TRADE The Pukeko reached Gisborne this morning from Auckland, and after discharging general cargo sails this evening for Napier. Returning to Auckland, the vessel loads there on Wednesday for Coast, bays, Gisborne and Napier. The Awahou loads cement at Portland this morning and sails for Napier and Gisborne. She discharges at Napier on Monday and Gisborne on Tuesday, proceeding thence to Portland.
The Margaret W. is en route from Gisborne to Auckland and at the northern port will load on Monday and Tuesday for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne, returning here on Thursday.
The Pakura left Gisborne last night for , Waikokopu, Wellington and Lyttelton. She is to load at Wellington on Monday and Tuesday, and, omitting her call at Picton, where she was to have loaded chaff, she will take in general cargo at Lyttelton about Thursday next for Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne and the Coast. The Wainui, which was delayed at Lyttelton, is expected to leave that port to-day for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne, arriving here about Thursday next.
CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA Kalingo, \yhich is to load coal and general cargo at Newcastle about July 1 for Napier and Gisborne, is to complete at Sydney. Kaikorai, leaves Newcastle about June 20; thence Port Stephens and Sydney for Wellington and Auckland. Kauri, loads Edithburg about June 27 and Adelaide for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. MAUNGANUI IN DOCK The Union Company’s passenger steamer Maunganui went on the Wellington floating dock on Thursday for cleaning and painting prior to her Islands cruise. She is to leave Wellington on Jqly 5 and Auckland on July 7 for Rarotonga, Papeete, Moorea, Bora Bora, Apia, Vavau and Nukualofa, returning to Auckland on July 29. On her second winter cruise the vessel leaves Wellington on August 1 for Nukualofa, Vavau, Apia, Lavuka and Suva. STRANDED SCOW REFLOATED The scow Echo, which had been on the Wairau bar since last Thursday, came off about midday on Wednesday with the tide. According to advice received in Wellington she was undamaged, and proceeded up the river to Blenheim. NEW CARGO SHIP On her first visit to New Zealand, the new motor ship Port Halifax is expected at Auckland from Montreal on Monday. The vessel, a sister ship to the Port Montreal and Port Saint John, which have previously caJled at Auckland, made her maiden voyage to Australia. She is the first ship to reach the Dominion from Montreal since ice closed the St. Lawrence River in October. The Port Halifax is commanded by Captain A. A. Cooper. WAIRANGI’S FAST TRIP A fast trip of 1(1 days to Pankma Canal has been made by the Shaw, Savill Company’s motor-ship Wairangi, which left Wellington on June 4 for England. The usual time for the run is about 17 days, and if the Wairangi maintains her speed it is thought that she will be at London aside 28 days' travelling. The Waira ngi. and her sister ship the Wai,vera have been responsible for some speedy runs.
