The first field day for the Scouts of the Bartletts group was held last Saturday afternoon. A number ol younger 'friends were also invited to join the troops, and a very enjoyable time was spent
The social at the staff bach on Wednesday, which was to have been a special surprise one, arranged by its members, had to be postponed owing to sickness among those who were lo take part. It is hoped to have it at the next fortnightly gathering. A progressive bridge evening was substituted, and a number played monopoly. Mrs. W. L. Bell won the ladies' prize for the most points, whilst Mrs. Bell won the men's prize.
Last week the committee of the Y.M.C.A. organised a hard-up dance, when a number of realistic costumes were seen. An unusual supper was suopiied consisting of saveloys and boiled potatoes in their jackets which were much enjoyed.
