THROWN FROM TRAMCAR
WOMAN PASSENGER HURT COLLISION WITH LORRY (Pur Proas Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A compound fracture and severe laceration of the left thigh and shock were suffered by Miss M. Donnellan, a shop assistant, when a tramcar and a motor lorry collided at the corner of Wakefield and Cuba streets. The accident was an unusual one. The lorry driver braked his vehicle to allow a pedestrian the right of way over the roadway on the marked crossing. Miss Donnellan was standing on the platform of the tram following the lorry, and when the tram struck the back of the lorry she was thrown forward, striking the road in front of the tram.
