Last week's flood will cost the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board about tBOOO for repairs to various protective works under the control of the board. This estimate was given to members of the board at a special meeting in Napier by the engineer, Mr. Guy Rochfort, when submitting a report on. a survey he made of the rivers following the Hood. Mr. Rochfort also reported on the behaviour of rivers during the flood, which remained at its peak for approximately 12 hours. There was a full attendance of board members.
