The.. ~ weather cbndi - . affected .affected the attendance. Mr. E. Derecourt was /.in, the chair and presented annual report and balance sheet. The retiring committee ha& worked well and all the necessary duties : had been faithfully carried out. The attendance had increased within the past few months from .18 to 35", and Mr. A. O. K. Sim had. been appointed headmaster. Mr Derecourt drew the attention of all present to a number of important matters; of,local interest which needed consideration. , . ~,,., The balance sheet showed a satisTactory financial position, and was adopted with the report. A vote of t>anks„.was passed to the retiring The election o£ the committee resulted:—Chairman". Mr. H. Clews; secretary, V. Tojulinspn; and Messrs. SV. J.,Rowe, B. Cuxrie, and W. N. McChaffery. The-new committee decided to hold meetings on the first Monday of each month. Members of . the Motuhora Tennis Club are working enthusiastically for.the annual ball, which is to b? held on Friday night. Mr. G. T. Hutchins returned to Motu on„Twesday from Sydney.—Mrs. N. Hayman, Motuhora, left on Tuesday for Auckland. A great deal, of interest, is being *takEn in the forthcoming council elections and Mr. R. Baird, who is contesting the seat,for the Motu riding against the sitting member, Mr. H. C. Boys, will address a meeting of ratepayers in the Motu Hall next Monday afternoon.
