BANANA PRICES FIXED
AORANGI’S SHIPMENT INCREASE IN VALUE (Per Pross Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Any repetition of the misunderstanding which arose when the Matua last arrived tit Auckland witir a shipment of bananas from Fiji on consignment to the New Zealand Government, was avoided when lire Aorangi discharged to-day. The maximum wholesale prices were fixed by the Government supervisor of banana marketing til £1 a case for firsts, and 18s (id a case for seconds, compared with the prices for the last shipment of 17s and l(is a case respectively. Tire Aorangi’s shipment was 2GOO cases from Fiji. On Wednesday a larger consignment is due by the Matua from Tonga and the Cook Islands.
