CHEERS BY NAZIS
DEPARTURE OF HITLER BERLIN STREETS LIIIED .MEETING- WITH 11, DUCK “TWO GREAT '.MEN’" (Elec. Tel. Copy right—United Press Assn.) (Reed. May 3,2 p.m.) Thousands of people uproariously farewelled Herr Hitler on his departure to visit Signor Mussolini in Rome. All work ceased early, employees marching in bodies to line the streets. The Anhalt station was a forrest. of Italian and German flags. General Goering, in a speech said that the visit was of the greatest importance to the peace of the world because the “two greatest men of the century” were meeting in Rome. Herr Hitler talked animatedly on the platform with General Goering, who is temporarily the head of the Stale. Herr Hitler was obviously in the best of humour.
