Support for an investigation by the Bureau of Industries into the possible establishment of a cement works in Southland was given by the Bluff Harbour Board in response to a request from Featherstone, Adamson and Francis on behalf of certain interests, but members of the board expressed some doubts on the advisability of the board committing itself to • support such an industry.
