FORESTRY LEAGUE

DOMINION PRESIDENT SIR. HEATON RHODES (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night.

Sir Robert Heaton Rhodes, of Tai Tapu, has accepted the presidency of the New Zealand Forestry League, rendered vacant by the death of Mr. E. Phillips Turner, the previous holder of the office.

The announcement was made at a meeting in Wellington of the league council, and was received with considerable satisfaction. Sir Heaton’s interest in forestry is weil known. He was formerly Minister in charge of the State Forestry Service, and it is expected that his knowledge will prove of great value to the league in its work.
