The Perfect Sergeant

YYNE man who does not feel the film frost is Edward Lexey, the man who played the sergeant in “Farewell Again,” and pinched the picture. That was his first film. Since then he has made 15. To-day he could appear in four films at once, if there were four films going at once; instead, he is content to be the landlord in Charles Laughton’s “St. Martin’s Lane.” When he went to London from toe Gate Theatre, Dublin, he earned £4 a week. Last year brought him £4000; this year’s contracts look like £12,000. On the screen, he is the perfect army sergeant; but he went to Sandhurst and served in the Indian Army.
