Cameras “’Perspired”

A FEW years ago, when more films ** were being made in New York, one company in a Long Island studio had to suspend operations for a few hours and let the stage cool off because the microphones and cameras “perspired” so that, large beads of water collected all over them. New York’s humidity, which brought on this condition, was more than a minor reason for the industry’s moving to Hollywood cn masse. There Is such slight humidity in Los Angeles that the heat is considerably less annoying, distracting and tortuous.

But it is not exclusively within the studios that heat creates a problem. Units on location for exterior production find toe sun one of their worst enemies, just as it is a friend in providing natural lighting.
