The Secretary of State for War, Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, announced in the House of Commons the formation of a committee to examine the system ol B trial by court martial under the Army and Air Force Acts, and particularly to consider whether it was desirable and practicable that a person convicted by court martial should have the right to appeal to a civil judicial tribunal.

The committee comprises Mr. Roland Oliver, K.C. (chairman), Mr. Tristram Beresford, K.C., Sir Felix Cassel, K.C., Mr. J. G. Lawson, M.P., Air Vice-Marshal C. A. Longeroft, and General Sir Felix Eady.
