A letter received from the Department of Internal Affairs asking for a report on the liberations carried out h.v thi' society in the Moanui district and that branch of the Motu River. — it was decided to reply that there had been no liberations throughout the past throe years owing to (he fact that the department had not made the fry available to the society.
Reporting on the work of the liberation committee, Mr. White said that he, together with Messrs. C. Broingan and B. Wells had assisted the distribution committee recently and the position to-day was that 425 birds had been liberated. A further 200 birds were still to be liberated in the district, which would make a total of 025, the largest number to have been set free in the district. The liberation would be completed by next Wednesday. Mr. White explained that the work had been fairly strenuous and he wished to pay a tribute to the good service Mr. Wells had been to the society.
