FRUIT FROM AMERICA
DUTY REDUCTION ASKED MARKETS IN BRITAIN (Klee. Tel. Copy right—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March Hi. noon.) WASHINGTON, March 15. The California, Florida and Texas Citrus Growers’ Association has asked the Government to obtain through the Anglo-American trade agreement the elimination of the British import duty on United States oranges during the season when South African and other Dominion preferential oranges do not enter the British market.
The association asked for a fixed rate of duty for the United States imports during the other months, instead of the present 10 iter cent ad valorem rate, on the grounds that the latter provokes valuation argument.
