GOOD COMPETITION BROKERS’ REPORTS Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company are in receipt of the following cabled advice from London: “The London wool sales opened with a good tone and competition, Bradford being the principal buyers, and the Continent operating moderately. Compared with last closing rates, crossbred greasy show par to 5 per cent decline; best descriptions, the least decline; scoured, par to 5 per cent decline; slipe, 5 per cent decline.”

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, is in receipt Of the following cable message from London dated March 15: “There was a good attendance at the opening of the wool sales to-day, competition by home and Continental buyers being fairly active. Prices, as compared with the first series, are lower by par to ijd per lb for Merino super greasy; by par to £d per lb for crossbred slipe; crossbred greasy is in buyers’ favour. Prices otherwise are unchanged. The opening catalogues were fairly representative." The Bank of New Zealand advises receipt of the following cable message from London dated March 15: “The wool sales have opened with strong competition. There was a large attendance of buyers, with an active demand from home and foreign buyers, including Russian. Compared with the close of last series, prices for good style greasy fine and medium crossbreds are unchanged, but average and inferior are a halfpenny lower. Greasy coarse crossbreds arc unchanged. New Zealand Merinos are not represented.” The Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat and Mercantile Company, Ltd., have received the following cable advice from London: “At the opening of tlie London wool sales on March 15, there was a good attendance of buyers and keen competition. Prices, compared with the close of last series, were as under: Merinos, greasy, par to 5 per cent down; greasy crossbreds, fine and medium par to 5 per cent down, coarse par; slipes, par to 5 per cent down; Merinos, scoured, 5 per cent down; crossbreds, scoured, par.”
