MURIWAI NEWS
ENJOYABLE DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) At the dance held in the Muriwai Hall on Saturday evening there was a good attendance. An enjoyable supper was served in the Anzac Room, where the decorations were carried out in Michaelmas daisies and asters. Mr. Hickson Poipoi rendered the song “Blue Hawaii,” while extras were played by Miss Topsy Karepa and Mr. Tipene Nepe. The music for the dancing was supplied by the Moonlight Scrcnaders combination, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. D. Blair. Those present included Mrs. Jones, whose frock was of floral marocain, Mrs. K. Wilson, grey ensemble: Mrs. King, pin spot velvet; Mrs. R. Wilson, navy and white silk; Mrs. M. Nui, black silk; Mrs. E. Tawiri, figured silk; Mrs. M. Pohatu, black marocain; Mrs D Isaac, black and white ensemble; Mrs. L. Pore, brown ensemble. Miss Topsy Karepa was wearing black silk; Miss Ada Poipoi. blue marocain; Miss Rata Wyllie, pink satin; Miss Phyllis Nuia, cocktail suit, Miss Charlotte Karepa, black taffeta, Miss Kitty Lahood, green satin; Miss Maura Peru, pink taffeta; Miss H. Nepe, figured georgette; Miss Jane Turangi, black crepe-de-chine; M R Raihania, figured georgette; Miss P. Lahood, navy ensemble; Miss Jean Tukc, black net; Miss S. Pcre, black net and satin.
Last Sunday the Rev. Father Foisman conducted a Catholic Churc; ’ service in the Muriwai School, that being a good attendance. These seiviccs are held in Muriwai once each three months. . Mrs. J. Blumsky is spending a shoit vacation in Gisborne.
