FALL FROM TRAIN WINDOW
REMARKABLE ESCAPE BOV TWO YEARS OF AGE (Por Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. A remarkable escape was cxperi-l eenced by a two-year-old child, Barry / Humphries, a son of Mrs. Humphries, of Mount Eden, when he fell from a window of a carriage forming part of t the Opou express, near Kaiwaka. 1 The child was travelling with his mother, and fell from the train on a downhill stretch of the line. Another passenger promptly applied the emergency brake, and the train backed to the scene of the accident. The boy was found lying by the side of the line and did not appear to be seriously injured. At Paparoa the child was attended by a doctor, and was admitted to hospital. He is suffering from head injuries, and will be kept in hospital for observation. [
