COUNTRY TENNIS
VISIT TO WHATATUTU MANGAPAPA VICTORIOUS Ideal conditions prevailed last week-end, when a friendly match was played at the Whatatutu tennis courts between Mangapapa and Whatatutu. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were provided by the Whatatutu lady members. t The courts were in good order, and 'some excellent tennis was enjoyed by those taking part. Details of the match are as follows, Mangapapa players being named first in each instance:—

VISIT TO MOTUHORA OTOKO CLUB MEMBERS (Herald Correspond out.) Members of the Otolco Tennis Club visited Motuhora during the week-end and played a series of matches with the local club. Mrs. Eric Smith, Otoko, who at one time was a leading player in Gisborne, delighted the Motuhora players with her excellent tennis. Luncheon and tea were provided and a number of spectators enjoyed the display given by the players.

PUHA COMPETITION (Horde! Corrospondont.) The Puha tennis courts continue to be well patronised, the club badges causing keen competition. On Tuesday evening the holders, E. Scragg and Mrs. Seflon defeated C. Brown and Miss M. Graham, 9 —5. During the week-end the holders, E. Scragg and. Mrs. Seflon, were defeated by T. Thompson and Miss Coates, 9—G.
