PRISONERS SENTENCED

DUNEDIN SESSIONS (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. The following prisoners were sentenced to-day:—Thomas Crisp, on a charge of intoxication while in charge of a car at Oamaru, causing death, two months' imprisonment; James Hall Morris, arson and also sending a threatening letter, two years' imprisonment; Richard Geary, causing bodily injury while intoxicated in charge of a car, two months' imprisonment, and Francis William Meason, indecent assault, nine months' reformative detention.

MURDER ATTEMPT CHARGE GAOL FOR SEVEN YEARS (Per Tress Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. In the Supreme Court Wilfred Richard John Curry was sentenced to-day to a term of imprisonment on five charges, including one term of seven years on the most serious charge, that of attempted murder, the sentences to be concurrent, seven years in all.

The attempted murder charge arose out of the sensation at Saddle Hill on the night of November 29 when, it is alleged, after assaulting a man and a woman with the starting handle of a motor car, he fired shots at both, breaking the woman's arm and missing the man. He was acquitted on charges against the man and sexual charges against the .woman. He pleaded guilty to charges of attempted suicide By shooting himself in the head at Saddle Hill and by drowning at Dunedin on the following morning.
