CHILDLESS COUPLES
ADOPT BABIES FOR XMAS TORONTO, Dec. 24. A foster child will be the Christmas gift to-rnorrow for more than 200 couples in Ontario who have felt a lack of interest in their lives. Several hundred other couples were disappointed "because there are never enough children suitable for adoption." For weeks before Christmas applications streamed into branches of the Children's Aid Society. In Toronto more than 70 couples sought since November 1 to adopt a child at the Children's Aid Society, but half were disappointed. -It placed 53 babies in homes during that time, but some had been applied for earlier.
