RACING
NEW PLYMOUTH WINNER OLD TARANAKI FAMILY Raceeamp, winner of the Moturon Handicap at New Plymouth last Thursday, was having only his fifth race. Previously at the Taranaki summer meeting in December he. ran a second to Sam's Choice, then temporarily being in H. Gray's stable. For last week's racing he was prepared by his owner, Mr. V. Wells, at White Cliffs. Pukearuhe.
Raceeamp. who is a four-year-old chestnut gelding, 'belongs to an old Taranaki family that does not figure in the present Stud Book, though it appears to be eligible to do so. Years ago a Mr. Lye, of Tihorangi, was breeding from this family. Mr. Wells secured Racecamp's dam, Cammey, about 15 years ago. The mare was raced a number of times without ever being placed. Cammey was by the Carbine horse Camp Fire from Miss Park, who is by Sylvia Park from Friskarina, who was pronably the Stud Book mare by Apremont. Racecamp's sire is the Martian horse Raceful.
