SWIMMING CLUB
NAPIER TEAM CHOSEN CARNIVAL PROGRAMME The team selected to represent the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club at the Hawke's Bay championships at Napier on February 21 and 22, was announced at a meeting of the club last night as follows: —
50yds. and 100yds. men's championship.—S. Dodgshun, A. H. DeCosta, and D. Lange. 220yds. men's championship.—S. Dodgshun and K. Morse. 440yds. and 880yds. championship.— K. Morse.
150yds. men's backstroke championship.—A. DeCosta.
Men's dive.—H. Wall. Intermediate boys' championship.— R. Clay.
Intermediate boys' dive.—l. Juson. Schoolboys' championship.—P. Balfour.
Women's -championship.—Miss H. McKnight. Intermediate girls' championship. — Miss K. Henderson.
Swain Memorial Cup relay.—Dodgshun, DeCosta, Lange, and Clay. Kinross-White Cup, relay.—Dodgshun, DeCosta, Lange, Clay, Morse, and Juson.
Mr. A. H. DeCosta was appointed captain and manager of the team. A chaperon has yet to be appointed. Programme for Next Carnival
The following programme was approved for a carnival to be held at the Macrae Baths on Monday, February 14: — 220yds. men's senior championship; 220yds. men's breaststroke championShip; 220yds. Heeney Cup, women; Whataupoko Cup, diving, dives as for the intermediate Hawke's Bay championship; 20yds. learners' race, boys; 20yds. learners' race, girls; 220yds. boys' intermediate championship; 100yds. schoolboys' championship; 50yds. intermediate girls' championship; 50yds. men's handicap; women's dive; 100yds. relay, Handrick's Rose Bowl; water polo. , Entries close with Mr. C. E. Brown on Friday at 5 p.m. New members elected at the meeting were: Misses Zola- Colbert, Patricia Clark, Shirley Lynex, Kathleen Clark. Aileen Linstrom and Barbara Martin, and Mr. A. F. Rowley.
