WAIROA WEDDING

WILSON—WALKER (Herald Correspondent.) On Wednesday, January 26, relatives and close friends gathered to witness the marriage of Jean, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Walker, of Wairoa, and Duncan Wilson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wilson, “Waitahora,” at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Wairoa.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of oyster satin fashioned on simple effective lines. The bodice was cut to form a round neckline and leg o’ mutton sleeves which finished in a point over the hands,- and the skirt fell gracefully to form a train. To wear with her veil of tulle there was a halo of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white agapanthus and gypsophila. . The frocks of the two maids in attendance, Misses Alice Chapman and Jean Dickie, were redingotes. of green and pink cloque over matching satin. Headdresses were halos of miniature pink and cream roses, and each carried a bouquet to tone.

The flower girl, Shirley Wakeling, niece of the bride, looked sweet in a blue redingote over satin, while her headdress and flowers were in pink shades.

Mr. Kenneth Wilson was the best man, while Mr. Neil Munro was groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. Walker received the guests at Osier’s, where the reception was held, Mrs. Walker wearing a smart wine ensemble with a bouquet of golden tonings. Mrs. G. Wilson, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a navy frock relieved with white, and carried a bouquet of red roses.

After the reception the happy couple left on their honeymoon from the home of Miss Walker, aunt of the bride. For her going away frock the bride chose a dusky pink suit with accessories to tone.

Among the guests were Miss Walker and Miss Margaret Walker (Auckland), Miss M. Walker, Mrs. Wakeling (Gisborne), Mrs. E. Booth (Rotorua), Mrs. F. Mcßae, Mrs. FI. Martin (Martinborough); Misses K. and M. Mcßae, Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Walker; Mrs. M. P. Chapman; Misses K. and N. Chapman; Mr. and Mrs. D. Wilson.
