Students Want More Say
WOMEN students at the University of Capetown are tired of the way men mismanage their affairs. They want to do their own bit for the university. One of the girl students, organising a protest meeting, said university women students were too shy and timid at society meetings “where men get up and talk endlessly.” The editor of the students’ newspaper, “U. C. Tattle,” on asking whether he might attend, was told that the meeting was for women only, and no men were wanted. This is the first big organised attempt by the women students to make themselves heard in student government in Capetown.
