COMING-OF-AGE DANCE
PATUTAHI FUNCTION ANIMATED SCENE (Herald Correspondent.) The Patutahi Hall presented an animated scene last night, when friends of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Monckton, Ngatapa, were invited to a jolly dance in honour of their son, Christopher, who was celebrating his twenty-first birthday. The hall was artistically decorated witli pink and blue hydrangeas, tree ferns and palms, and the dance music was supplied by Mr. Bruce Chrisp’s orchestra. A dainty savoury supper was served from tables decorated with bowls of mixed blooms.
, Mrs. E. M. Monckton received the guests wearing an attractive frock of brown and cream lace with brown velvet trimmings.
Miss Ruth Monckton, sister of the guest of honour, wore a frock of floral crepe-de-chine, with a pink sash.
Miss Phillipa ’Monckton, another sister, chose a dainty frock of blue, pink-spot muslin.
