SPANISH WAR AN ISSUE
LONDON, Feb. 3
The Daily Telegraph’s Belfast correspondent states that the Spanish war is proving a live issue in the Ulster elections.
The Catholic community, numbering about one-third of the population, opposes the Spanish Government and regards General Franco as a liberator. This will probably cost the Labour candidates thousands of votes in those divisions where the Catholics are strong, as they will almost certainly abstain from voting.
