What is claimed to be a record for New Zealand was accomplished at the motor ship Oakbank, which was engaged in discharging phosphate at Lyttelton on Saturday and Monday. On Saturday the ship discharged 1820 tons in five hours and a half. Five of the harbour board’s electric cranes and three pairs of the ship’s own derricks were used.
