MURIWAI LABOUR PARTY
DONATION FROM MEMBERS
On Thursday evening the monthly meeting of the Muriwai branch of the Labour Party was held in tine Muriwai School, Mr. J. Devery, the chairman, presiding. The resignation of Mrs. Dailey, who had left the district to reside in Wairoa, was received, and the position of secretary, which was occupied by Mrs i . Dailey, was filled by Mr. Jack Wilson, who was unanimously elected to the office.
A donation, a farewell gift to Mr. and Mrs. H. Dailey, who were actively concerned in the Labour movement, was confirmed by the members present.
Among the correspondence received was a telegram expressing good wishes from Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P. The balance-sheet showed a comfortable credit balance. It was decided to obtain a number of copies of “What Labour Means To You” for distribution to the members of the branch.
The remainder of the evening was spent in a general discussion on politics.
