CONFERENCE CONCLUDES
N.Z. MASTER BUTCHERS o ELECTION OF OFFICERS (Pur Press Association.) . DUNEDIN, this day. The New Zealand master butchers’ fifth annual conference was concluded yesterday, when Mr. J. F. Carter, of Palmerston North, was elected president for the ensuing term. It was also decided that? next year's conference should be held at Wanganui. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. J. F. Carter, Palmerston North; vice-presidents, Mr. T. W. Stephenson, Canterbury, and G. Bennett, Wanganui; executive, Messrs. W. J. Henderson, Dunedin, R. Hughes, Christchurch, W. R. Shattock, South Auckland, E. F. Thwates, Palmerston North, F. Bristol. Wanganui, G. Trimlett, New Plymouth, T. Smellie, Gisborne, R. Johnston, Invercargill, B. Harries, Hawke’s Bay, P. Luxl'ord, Wellington, and W. Vaughan, Auckland. A remit presented by Mr. McCready urging that the Government should be approached with a view to having the cost of condemned meat for which the butchers received only a small return, placed on a sliding scale, was carried.
