TENNIS AT BARTLETTS
ALL-DAY TOURNAMENT i CLUB BEATS SETTLERS (Herald Correspondent.) An all-day tennis tournament was played last Saturday between members of the Bartletts Tennis Club and Wharerata settlers, Bartletts being successful in winning the majority of the matches. Morning and afternoon tea were provided by the committee, those responsible for the arrangements being Mesdames H. Borst and T. Walters. The visitors appreciated the new court and many of the players took advantage of the swimming pool adjacent. Following are the results, Wharerata players being named first in each instance: —
Women’s Singles.—Miss S. Richardson lost to Mrs. E. A. Smith, 6 —3; Mrs. B. Jones lost tc< Miss J. French, 4 —3: Mrs. J. Clanachan lost to Sister Bourke, C—2; Mrs. G. McAra lost to Mrs. W. L. Bell, 6—3; Miss C. Mulligan d. Mrs. H. Borst, 6—3; Miss A. West lost to Mrs. Pohatu, 5 —3.
Men’s Singles.—G. Torrie lost to K. Muir, 6 —2; D. Broad and W. L. Beil drew, 5 —5; B. Richardson lost to T. H. Walters, 6 —3; M. Richardson and
