The Pukeko arrived in Gisborne at 1.50 p.m. to-day from Auckland.
The good fortune of the Gisborne syndicate in winning £12,000 in a recent Australian consultation ,ias had its effect on the puriters in Gisborne and no doubt has been effective in creating a growth in the number of residents eager to increase their bank balances by speculation of that nature. The art union ticket sellers in Gisborne found that their trade was stimulated yesterday by a demand for tickets in New Zealand speculations.
