MANOEUVRES COMMENCE
SINGAPORE BASE OPENING
LARGE FORCES ASSEMBLED
(British Official Wireless.) Reed. noon. RUGBY, Feb. 2. The manoeuvres in connection with the opening of the Singapore base have begun.
Twenty-seven warships, including an aircraft carrier, destroyers, and submarines of the East Indies and China squadrons, three Royal Indian Navy sloops, and over 100 planes and land forces approximating 10,000 troops are taking part.
