BUTTER MARKET FIRM PRICES RISE V- TER CWT (Reed. Feb. 2, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 1. The butter market is firm at an increase of 3s per cwt. on rates at the end of last week for Australian and New Zealand. Quotations are: New Zealand, choicest salted 109 s, unsalted 112 s; Australian, salted 108 s, unsalted 110 s to Ills. At the end of last week, New Zealand was quoted at 106 s for salted and Australian at 104 s to 105 s. Even at the advance of 3s per cwt., New Zealand butter is still below the guarantee level, which is equal to 112 s per cwt. The present price of 109 s is equal to slightly under 13d per lb., the guarantee being 13|d.
