DAY'S WORK LOST

HUNTLY MINE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT REACHED The Renown Collieries were idle on Monday as the result of a decision reached by the men to hold a slopwork meeting in the morning to discuss the dismissal by the management of two day-wage men. The meeting was commenced before the specified time to start work and a settlement was' reached, the management having agreed to reinstate the men concerned. However, the miners who reside at Huntly had left the meeting before it finished to catch the early train back to their homes, with the result that no work could be done.
