While obtaining posts from the Kaihawaka mining dam, near Greymouth, on Saturday afternoon, two axemen, Messrs. Charles and John Neame, of Kumara, had a narrow escape from drowning when the bottom fell out ol their boat. They were thrown into about 1211. of water. They were both able to swim ashore.
