The accidental discharge of an airrifle with which he and a companion were playing on Saturday afternoon resulted in serious injuries to the right eye being suffered by Derek Mossirian, the 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Mossman, of Tiniroto. Just before the accident the lads had been shooting at a benzine tin. Following the mishap Master Mossman received first aid from Mrs. Herbert Cooper, Tiniroto, who is a trained nurse, and the lad was taken by Mr. Cooper to Cook Hospital. Master Mossman left Gisborne this morning for Wellington, where is is to receive j treatment from a specialist.
