BROADCASTS BY KING

CONTACT WITH PEOPLE NECESSARY OCCASIONS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) LONDON, Dec. 28. The Times, in a leading article, states that the third sentence in the King’s Christmas Day broadcast must be interpreted to mean that the King will not broadcast every Christmas Day. “It is a wise decision,” says The Times, “The King, we all pray, will reign for many years, and so the intimate and spontaneous contact between him and his people should not be allowed to come within the danger of being taken as a matter of course. “All will hope that when the occasion arises the King will broadcast on a Christmas Day.”
